Through the Eyes of an Avid Reader
A hidden phrase writing challenge response using the phrase 'If You Love Books and Reading'.
“If you don’t get up off that couch and go outside for some fresh air, I’ll find you something to do in here with me.” Her mother pointed the handle of the broom at her like a sword; her threat of chores falling on deaf ears.
She looked up into her mother’s eyes, but behind the upset that rimmed the pretty blue was love. “I don’t want to go outside”
“You need to go find something fun to do.” The broom handle had now become a wizard’s wand as it pointed toward the parted curtains and out the window. “Make friends. Explore.” Her mother became a Fairy God Mother. “Find something exciting to do outside in the sunshine.”
She smiled to her mother, “I have all the adventure I need right here in my books.” She turned away and went back to her reading.
